Background
Yevgeni Petrov is a Traladaran (human), 5'9" high and 1600cn (average for a Traladaran man). As is typical for his slight race, he has a pale complexion, brown eyes, and deep brown hair. He also usually sports a wide grin. He is native to Karameikos and was born and raised in the village of Verge.
When he approached adulthood, it became time for his Shearing Ceremony. His family held an open dinner attended by their close neighbours. After the food, Yevgeni stood silently while his parents solemnly dressed him in travelling gear. Then they sheared off the bottom the cloak, leaving it ragged: symbolic of his status as an impoverished wanderer. Now Yevgeni is formally considered to be a friend of his family, but not a member of it. He must find his own way in the world until his family decides that he is worthy to return.
This is a customary tradition of the Traladarans, so Yevgeni is not at all dismayed by this. He is the fifth child of eight, and has seen some of his brothers leave and return to the family bosom already. He is excited at the prospect of leaving the crowded family home and seeing more of the world around him, spurred on by the tales of his brothers.
Yevgeni is a bookish lad, enjoying learning and curious about everything. This attracted him to join the Church of Traladara which provided him an excellent environment for education. He is also very traditional in his appreciation for the superstitious fortune-telling of his countrymen: these are declarations of man's curiosity about the world and determination to preserve himself from evil, and are often rewarded by the Immortals.
Yevgeni looks forward to being able to use the wisdom and knowledge he will learn in order to be able to provide advice to others in the future. He upholds the laws of the land, but is happy to bend the rules, following the letter rather than the spirit of the law, if needs be. This is normal for someone brought up in the Traladaran culture.
