IT:Changing passwords (Sametime)
From Stiki
In my experience, there is no option to change your password within the Sametime application, and the documentation suggests that only the system administrator can change your password for you. But there is a way:
- In Lotus Notes open up the company address book. You can probably select this from the Workspace tab.
- Open your own details in the address book. You can find yourself by typing your surname (a search dialog will automatically open when you start typing). Double-click your name to open up the details of your user profile.
- Change your internet password. This is found on the Basics tab, on the left hand side, second from the bottom. Double-click the text "Internet password" to reveal a button marked "Enter Password" and a random sequence of letters and numbers. Click the button, enter a new password, and click "OK".
- Save this change by selecting "Save & Close" at the top left of the tab window. You should be returned to the company address book, which you can close as usual. Your password will be updated on the server after you log off and log back in to Windows.
